Therapy Options

Our psychologists use a variety of child-friendly approaches tailored to each child’s specific needs, which may include: Play-Based Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Strategies, Social Skills Development, and Parenting Support Techniques.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Our clinicians use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies to help you and your child understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT focuses on identifying and reshaping unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors, replacing them with positive and constructive alternatives.

Play Therapy

Our skilled clinicians incorporate Play Therapy into sessions to create a safe and supportive environment where your child can express themselves naturally. Through play, children can communicate their thoughts and feelings, explore emotions, and practice new skills learned during therapy.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps children develop awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and surroundings. By practicing mindfulness techniques, your child can learn to slow down, improve focus, and manage stress. These strategies also support emotional regulation and help reduce negative thought patterns.

Social Skills Training

Our clinicians support children in developing essential social skills to improve their interactions with others. Social skills training can be delivered through one-on-one sessions or group programs, focusing on communication, active listening, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making.

Parenting Skills

Supporting a distressed child can be challenging. Our team works with you to build new skills or enhance existing ones, helping you support your child throughout their therapeutic journey. Your clinician will collaborate with you, involving you in the therapy process, so your child can apply the strategies learned in therapy to real-life situations.

Please feel free to contact Change for Life for any further questions you may have about our child and adolescent services. We are dedicated to matching your child or teenager with the psychologist who best suits their individual needs.
